Health Benefits of Pomegranate Products

From ancient times, the pomegranate fruit has been regarded as a symbol of medicine, healing, and longevity. The peels were boiled in water to yield an elixir that could cure mouth sores and ease upset stomach or diarrhea. The juice, as well as the whole arils (the juice-encapsulated seeds), was employed as a practical cure-all. The blood-red color reminded the intuitive human of the life-substance itself, and thus gave rise to conceptions of pomegranate juice as something that could extend life and prevent its dissolution. Babylonian soldiers were known to chew the arils prior to battle in order to confer invulnerability.

Health Benefits of Pomegranate Fruit

Modern science has gone a long way to re-affirming the health benefits of pomegranate fruit. In one of our own studies published 1999, we demonstrated that pomegranate juice, specifically fermented pomegranate juice (which is more biologically active than fresh juice), had the power to absorb free radicals and to prevent oxidation. This is extremely important in maintaining health and preventing disease, and our first work showing this activity has been followed by dozens more in the past nine years. Pomegranate is now generally credited with providing one of the most potent mixtures of antioxidant compounds of any easily obtainable fruit.

Pomegranate and Menopausal Symptoms Relief

One class of antioxidants found in the pomegranate is the broad range of estrogens. These compounds can stimulate the human estrogen receptors that are involved with maintaining health of the bones, blood vessels and nervous tissue, and relieving symptoms of menopause. The estrogenic compounds are found throughout the pomegranate, including the juice, peel, seeds, and even in the leaves and flowers. In fact, there are probably more reported estrogenic compounds in pomegranate than in any other plant. The use of pomegranates for treating menopausal symptoms and deficits remains an active and vital area of investigation.

Pomegranate and Cardiac Health

The antioxidant action of the juice, as well as its ability to interrupt inflammation, has led to its modern use in the treatment and prevention of many diseases. Most notable are the cardiovascular maladies like stroke and heart attack, often the result of clogging of the arteries due to excessive fat deposits. In an elegant series of experiments by Dr. Michael Aviram and his colleagues, regular pomegranate juice consumption has been shown by to interrupt the process of atherosclerosis and to result in an increased intra-luminal diameter of the carotid artery by more than 30%!

Pomegranate Juice Extract and Prostate Cancer

Other clinical research in recent years has focused on the use of pomegranate juice for preventing the progress of prostate cancer. Like the studies of pomegranate juice and atherosclerosis, daily consumption has resulted in objective changes, in the case of prostate cancer, reduction of the biochemical "marker" known as "prostate specific antigen," or "PSA." Such studies have helped to underscore the importance of our own initial forays into the effects of pomegranate fermented juice extracts in human prostate cancer cells. Other work, which we conducted in mice, showed that a single injection of a pomegranate juice extract could significantly and powerfully suppress the growth of a human prostate cancer tumor which had been surgically implanted into this mouse. The data from human cell studies, animal studies, and now human clinical studies have tremendously substantiated the protective powers of pomegranate juice against prostate cancer and provoked an international flurry of research in this direction, which has extended also to cancers of the breast and ovary.

Pomegranate Seed Oil and Breast Cancer

Pomegranate juice and pomegranate seed oil are also active against human breast cancer cells. Pomegranate seed oil, specifically, was shown to promote the self-destruction of human breast cancer cells in culture. We showed fermented juice extract, pomegranate peel extract and also pomegranate seed oil to promote such self-destruction in breast cancer cells (the process known as apoptosis) as well as to actually prevent breast tumor occurrence in both experimental animals and organ cultures. Other researchers have now demonstrated similar results using pomegranate extracts for cancer prevention, such as the prevention of colon cancer in rats. All told, the cancer-busting properties of pomegranates are becoming a subject of both study and respect.

Health Benefits of Pomegranate

Pomegranate juice and other pomegranate materials, such as seed oil and peel extracts are now widely credited with possessing anti-inflammatory capabilities. Thus, pomegranates may also have a role not only in the treatment of classic inflammatory diseases such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome and arthritis, but also in the treatment of so-called "chronic inflammation" or the "metabolic syndrome." According to our current understanding, chronic inflammation is co-existent with a state of high "insulin resistance" which can lead to a host of modern medical problems such as diabetes mellitus, heart disease, cancer and obesity, especially, abdominal obesity. Regular consumption of pomegranate juice or extracts may very well serve as a hedge against all of these conditions, and even help to turn back the clock of aging.

In all of the medical past and in all of nature, there are few items that stand out as brilliantly as the pomegranate for its fascination and its rich and varied medical employment. It is expected fully, that as we continue to unravel the mysteries of its chemistry and pharmacology, we will yet find again within the pomegranate a healing bounty to ease our transition into the centuries to come.

Breast Enlargement Surgery by Irene

For years, women have suffered the agony of small, underdeveloped, or sagging bosom. For many women, the answer has been the very costly and dangerous cosmetic surgery instead of natural ways.

But the cost and risks make this an undesirable option. The average cost of a breast enhancement surgery is between $5,000 and $6,000. Most people simply don't have this kind of money to spend on breast enlargement surgery!

Breast enlargement surgery, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), was the fourth most popular invasive surgical procedure among cosmetic plastic surgeries performed in 2000. In a press release dated July 12, 2001, the ASPS says that breast augmentation was performed on 212,500 women last year.

Meanwhile, millions of women have been subjected to the ill effects of these modern day vanity contraptions that were bought in good faith.

Silicone gel implants were banned in 1992 by FDA.

If you have (or had) a ruptured silicone breast implant, you will be denied Health Insurance Coverage.

Saline-filled implants tend to have a higher rate of leaking and deflation than silicone gel implants, which means more frequent surgery to replace them.

In a study published in the Lancet medical journal, Dr Lori Brown of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says: "There is emerging consensus that both the incidence and prevalence of breast-implant rupture are much higher than previously suspected.

21% overall increase in cancers for women with implants, compared to women of the same age in the general population.

Implant patients were three times as likely to die from lung cancer, emphysema and pneumonia as other plastic surgery patients. The study is based on medical records and death certificates of almost 8,000 women with breast implants, including silicone gel implants and saline implants, and more than 2,000 other plastic surgery patients. How To Give A Woman Multiple Clitoral Orgasms Every Time

The clitoris is an incredible organ that serves no other purpose than to provide women with sexual pleasure and gratification through orgasm. By mastering how to stimulate the clitoris you will be able to give any woman hours of pleasure and multiple orgasms in quick succession.

In case you don't know, the clitoris is a small bean shaped mass of nerve tissue that is located about one to two inches above the vaginal opening. It can easily be found by running your finger upward between the labia (or lips) of the vagina until you come to a small round protrusion.

The clitoris is similar to the penis in that its normally soft and flaccid but will become hard and engorged during sexual stimulation. The more sexually aroused and excited a woman gets, the harder and bigger the clitoris will become until it swells to its maximum size.

Because the clitoris is located above the vaginal opening, the penis provides little or no stimulation to the area during intercourse. This is one of several reasons why most women don't achieve clitoral orgasms during intercourse as it needs to be stimulated in other ways and given extra special attention.

The best way to stimulate the clitoris is by using your hands and fingers to gently massage and caress it, but you can also use your lips and tongue as well. How long it takes to achieve a clitoral orgasm varies, but most women need between 20 to 30 minutes of uninterrupted stimulation in order to get there.

But before you even start massaging the clitoris, you first need to ensure that she is fully aroused and turned on until she becomes moist and open to further stimulation. This is why you need to become a master of foreplay so that you can excite and arouse her before any stimulation of the vagina has even begun.

When she becomes sufficiently aroused, you can gently start to stimulate her clitoris with your middle finger using a steady circular motion. Instead of simply rubbing the clitoris, you need to become intimately familiar with it and sense which areas and which movements provide her with the most pleasure.

Continue to stimulate her clitoris using small circular movements and pay close attention to how hard and engorged it becomes. Keep experimenting with various pressures and tempos until you find one that works best and keep doing it until her clitoris becomes rock hard and fully engorged.

The advantage of using your fingers is that you can continue to kiss and stroke her other erogenous zones at the same time which increases her arousal even more. This allows you to intimately connect with her on a deeper level as you can look into her eyes and caress her body while stimulating her clitoris.

Like any other skill, being able to give a woman multiple clitoral orgasms does take time and practice but the rewards far outweigh any disadvantages. If you can satisfy a woman and master the clitoral orgasm you will never have to worry about her looking elsewhere for sexual satisfaction.
